Mick Jagger on John Lennon

"I was friends with all four of them in different ways, but I got on with John perhaps the easiest. We had a lot in common. He had two different sides to him: a very acerbic side – I don't want to say a Scouse thing, but it was distrust of pretentiousness, and also quick-witted and funny – and the other facet of his personality was this sort of universalist, the give peace a chance, this naive idealism that obviously struck a chord with people. And it could be difficult to reconcile those two sides."

(Mick Jagger, The Independent, September 2007)

"I liked John a lot. He was the one I really got on with the most. We weren't buddy-buddies but we were always friendly. But after the Beatles and the Stones stopped playing clubs, we didn't see each other that much until he separated from Yoko, around 1974. We got really friendly again."

Poll results and new poll

Results of our last poll:

Which Beatle do you have most in common with?

John - 57%
Paul - 26%
George - 17%
Ringo - 0%

I'm not surprised to see that John won, but I can't believe Ringo didn't get a single vote!
